FIRE TENDER - EFFICIENT RESPONDER TRAILER UNIT

A fire tender (or fire engine/truck) is a specialized vehicle for firefighting, carrying water, foam, equipment (ladders, tools), and personnel to fire scenes, ranging from basic pumpers to advanced airport crash tenders.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR EFFICIENT RESPONDER TRAILER UNIT

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENT:

The requirement is for efficient responder unit which can be used primarily for Firefighting purpose. The pump shall satisfy the following requirements.

1. A) Single stage centrifugal Pump
   Fuel: Petrol
   Firefighting Capacity: Not less than 150 LPM @ 18 KG/CM2 pressure
   Engine: 4 Stroke, Twin Cylinder

2. FIRE FIGHTING ENGINE:

3. PUMP:

1. For firefighting, pump capacity shall not be less than 150 LPM at 18 kg/cm2, when tested from 3 meters suction height at NTP conditions (AS per IS: 944).

4. TRAILER

The pump shall be mounted on a Trailer for transportation purpose. The Trailer should satisfy the following.

1. The Trailer chassis frame shall be made of suitable mild steel It shall have 2 wheels & single axles.

7. Two handles (Man handling bars) of mild steel shall be provided at the front of the Trailer frame. The handles shall be so designed that it can be folded and secured along the frame when not in use.

Two jack legs in the rear and two in the front capable of being lowered into position and adequately secured to provide a suitable base for the unit, when pumping or standing unattached, shall be provided. The legs shall have suitable sized square plates and welded to the base of the pipe legs to prevent penetration into the earth when standing unattached. 8. TESTING:

Pump shall be endurance tested for 4 continuous hours at rated duty point of 150 LPM at 18 kg/cm2 at NTP conditions. Suction height shall be 3 meters from the center of pump impeller, as per IS 944. During the test, engine oil or pump oil shall not be changed. The cost of consumables for the test shall be borne by the supplier.

9. EQUIPMENT:

The following equipment shall be provided with the unit.

4. 75 mm Dia suction Hose of length 5 meters, each fitted with Gun Metal suction Hose coupling. - 02 Nos

Instruction Book including both operating and normal maintenance procedures shall be provided for the guidance of the user. The Book shall include an item wise and illustrated spare parts details giving reference No. of all parts. Description shall be there in English language.

12. MARKING:

The pump Unit shall be clearly and permanently marked (embedded) with the following information.

1. The output capacity of Pump in
2. Manufactures Name and Trade
3. Weight of the Pump
4. Year of
5. No. of the Pump.
6. Engine

13. PAINTING & OVERALL WORKMANSHIP

Overall workmanship shall be of good quality. Trailer & base frame shall be painted in black color.
